As we know from The Restaurant, MasterChef and bitter experience, there are a terrifying number of people out there running restaurants who really have no business doing it.

As the final course in C4's Big Food Fight week, Gordon Ramsay is back to rescue two of these flailing nohopers from the lumpen financial stew into which they've jumped - eyes wide open and credit cards in hand.

Why? Why? Why? Let them close down so the rest of us might never have the misfortune of ordering one of their vacuum-packed lamb shanks.

Let them board up their windows and we'll stay in and cook ourselves one of Jamie Oliver's korma recipes instead.

Unfortunately Gordon has got it into his head that these rubbish local businesses need saving from the faceless chains that are gobbling up the high street.

In truth, the only public service they're offering is providing viewers with a chance to scoff at the numpties running them.

Because when it comes to watching these hell-holes, as opposed to eating in them, our appetite remains insatiable.

Worryingly Justin, the ebullient owner of misguided Sheffield tapas bar The Runaway Girl, used to be a recruitment consultant.

God knows what sort of career advice he doled out to other people if this is the kind he gave to himself.

As for Mick, head foodmangler of the Dovecote Bistro in Okehampton, Devon, he hasn't learned yet that you argue with Gordon Ramsay at your peril.

Fancy a food fight? Bring it on!
