Holy crap. I don't even usually post on this board because I enjoy lurking, and I really don't have anything to add. But Rachel of Piccolo Teatro (what does that mean in English? I'm TERRIBLE with languages that are foriegn to me) has forced me to commit my utter disgust to internet permanance.
I got the feeling maybe Daddy felt guilty about something, perhaps not being around when she was a child, and Rach was taking FULL advantage.

As for India...she IS a treasure and I'm curious how things are going for her now. I hope Gordon paid a finders fee, because wasn't it Rachel's dad who found India and brought her to Paris? She came in to unfamiliar territory and really shone. I was crying when India said she went home to get her stuff, came back and the restaurant was overrun with mice and rotten food. And that Rachel had...disappeared. Sounds like maybe Rachel has some sort of substance abuse problem. I'll go along with the above poster who said it looked as if she was smoking a hashish spliff. She really did seem distracted, and twitchy and unable to focus. Maybe her Dad should pay for a good rehab for her. If any restaurant deserved to close it was that one.
Go Team India.

ETA: Those dessert tarts looked to DIE for. I didn't black out from alcohol poisoning because there wasn't a lot of "Rustic, Fresh, Local Produce, Honest" type cooking. Just those decadent rich delicious tarts. I want one. Or seven!

Poor Brian said he didn't have any control over his daughter. Well, no. She had complete control over him. I wonder just how much her little adventure ended up costing him.

And include me in on the India love. I could tell she was going to be a good cook merely because she kept tasting everything. So many of the cooks on this show have no idea how their own food tastes. Like the day chef at Piccolo who didn't season anything. How can you think you're a cook and not taste as you go along?

I remember another episode where GR hired I believe two young prep cooks from a restaurant. UK version.

*nods* From The Glass House.

Wasn't the restaurant run by that idiot in Spain also financed through family funds?

It was (partially, I believe); but for some reason, I get the notion that this owner actually at least somewhat cared about making a go of it.

On Piccolo Teatro... Gawd. Rachel was freakin' moronic. If it was the stuff she was smoking...that definitely explains it. *nods* The Brazilian guy was a nutter, too. (So happy to see GR carry the twit out.) On the upside? India FTW! I hope she's doing well.
