Zyg      Zyg gave Love's Fish Restaurant a rating of 1/5
I was disappointed. Between us we had two starters, one main. My first starter - salt and pepper squid was actually fine cut, battered calamari a la Romana. Ok as far as it went, but it was not salt and pepper squid. The dipping sause had chilli, but no ginger (as advertised).

My second starter - fish chowder was nothing like any chowder I have ever tried. There were some bits of fish in it but then that is where it stops. The 'soup' content was a very dense tomato puree - not a hint of fish stock or any other vegetable (OK there was some parsley on the croutons). The 'soup' was unseasoned, and quite tart.

My partner had fish stew. This looked like and tasted exactly the same as by fish chowder - except it was served on top of boiled rice. No hint of fish stock, no vegetables other than the sharp tomatoe puree.
The wine was OK, the service somewhat offhand. She asked - 'was that nice?' and walked away before I could answer.

Of course it was Chef Ramsay who doomed the restaurant, not its feeble cooking.Smiley
