A CHEF from West Moors is following his dream of going to work in a Gordon Ramsay kitchen.

Michael Aggett will take up the post of demi chef de partie in April, running a section of the kitchen at The York and Albany, London.

He applied for the job of commis chef, but instead |was offered a post one step higher.

Michael, 21, who currently works at two-rosette The Museum in Farnham, said he was confident he could cope in the heat of Ramsay’s kitchen, as he will be working for chef Angela Hartnett, formerly of The Connaught.

Jamie Oliver has been among celebrity diners to praise Michael’s food after he was served a meal.

“I have always been passionate about food.

“If I had the opportunity to be like Gordon Ramsay, I would.”

Michael said his long-term goal is to have his own fine dining restaurant.

Michael, a former Ferndown Upper School pupil, trained at Bournemouth and Poole College, and has worked in France, and at Chewton Glen and the Coventry Arms in Corfe Mullen.
