Went to a bash at Gordon Ramsay’s swanky new restaurant in the London Hotel in West Hollywood.

Several women asked to have their photograph taken with the combustible chef, but Gordon was savvy enough to realise that some of them might have been trying to set him up.

He pointedly walked away from one persistent young woman who wanted to pose with him.

‘I’m not getting burnt again!’ he told me, as he dragged me into the picture with him.

‘As long as there’s a gap, they can’t take the photograph and say: “Oh look! Here I am with Gordon Ramsay. We had a fling!” ’ he explained to me.

Ramsay told me how he was stung by ‘professional mistress’ Sarah Symonds late last year, after she claimed she’d had a long-term affair with the TV chef.

‘It never happened! It was completely made up,’ Ramsay insisted to me.

‘She set it up to make some money. I heard how she told her friends to “watch out” for a big story concerning her and the big story was her claims that we had an affair.

Not true! Not true for a minute!’ he told me as he greeted guests arriving for supper at the London.

So if you see any photographs of Ramsay taken in Los Angeles, and there’s a large gap, that’s where I was standing and I’ve been cut out of the frame.
