http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/incoming/358760/Carole-Malone-Gordan-Ramsays-cooked-his-goose.html

FINALLY, he's blown it. Not because of his affairs or his sleazy betrayal of his wife and children.

Not because he's a congenital liar and not because his empire is on the slide (although all of the above should have been reason enough).

No, Gordon Ramsay is now a busted flush because this arrogant, chauvinistic boor made the mistake of trying to bully, insult and make a fool of an articulate, intelligent female TV presenter who is loved in Australia every bit as much as he is now hated.

Last week Ramsay compared current affairs journalist Tracy Grimshaw's face to a pig's. He also insinuated she was a lesbian and in an interview he taunted her by asking if a mole on her upper lip "was a wart".

He also joked they'd been lovers for 20 years then laughed and said: "No, no, I wouldn't stoop that low."

But far from being cowed by this idiot's jibes, Tracy chewed Ramsay into a million pieces on live TV then spat him out into the faces of the Australian people.

In her two-minute response to his rudeness she made him look like the bigoted, sexist, homophobe he is- without ever once uttering the F word and never for a second losing her dignity.

And I'll bet the one thing that's gnawing at Gordon Ramsay's guts is that his career-which was dying on its backside anyway-has been torpedoed by a mere woman, those creatures he views as only being good for bonking, bullying and b*llocking.

Because make no mistake, in Ramsay's world women ARE inconsequential. He has no respect for them and regards them as inferiors good for only one thing-and it's not making hollandaise sauce.
Attack

But so visceral has been Australia's response to his attack on Tracy, that even the PM, Kevin Rudd, waded in, slating him as "a new form of lowlife", which makes you wonder why we in Blighty have tolerated him for so long. Why DID we ever rate this bullying, foul-mouthed coward?

Because he IS a bully-and like all bullies the minute someone tougher/ smarter/stronger takes him on, he collapses like a big, wobbly jelly, as we saw in his grovelling, almost tearful apology to Tracy Grimshaw.

Because while he initially tried to pass off what he'd done as a joke, the newsman interviewing him wasn't having it. He berated Ramsay for not having apologised, and when he said he'd tried to, the presenter said: "Well, there's the camera-try again."

And so the Big Bad Bully duly obliged-and it was pitiful to watch.

When he told the interviewer: "I didn't mean to hurt her," the response was: "Well, you did."

And then we saw it. While this man, who because of his position is allowed to heckle, humiliate and destroy people on national television, can dish it out, he sure as hell can't take it.

He then tried to claw his way back to the moral high ground, claiming it was disgraceful that Tracy had insulted his wife Tana.

Of course she hadn't. All she'd said was, "We've all seen how Gordon Ramsay treats his wife- and he's supposed to love her."

She wasn't attacking Tana. She was attacking HIM!
Lies

And how many times is this coward going to swear on the life of his kids that he's telling the truth. He did it in that apology on Aussie TV and he's done it here.

But let's not forget this is a man who's lied about having an affair (to his wife and to us), he's lied about his football career at Rangers.

Hell, he even lied about being told off by his mother for what he'd said to Tracy (he hadn't even spoken to her).

Ramsay no longer has credibility-as a businessman or as a human being-which is why it's hard to see where he can go from here.

Having been exposed as a coward, a liar and a chauvinist, he can no longer play the Big Man-because he isn't.

He's been cut down to size by a 5ft 4ins woman with a brain bigger even than his ego.

And it's made him look small- very small indeed!

What proof do you have of everything that you have alleged in your write up?  Where you there in the room with Gordon & Sarah when this "alleged" affair took place?   Where you there when he allegedly spoke ill of his family?   I 'd like you to explain to me your comments please. Just curious...

I guess that's why they call it tabloid journalism.

While I still watch his shows and am a fan, he has become a bit overexposed.

Even had this incident down under not taken place, he's due to lose some altitude at some point in terms of public perception.

It's just a case of over-reaching and coverage of him reaching a saturation point where seeing him on tv these days as starting to take on a quality of "been there, seen that before".

The over-reaching comes in having opened too many establishments in too many different corners of the world. Even if he quit all the tv work tomorrow, he can't possibly be in Dubai, New York, LA and London all at once. While his celebrity will get people in the door at least once, that's no guarantee it will build a solid, long-term customer base.

I think what I enjoyed best in terms of the tv stuff he's done was way back when he did The Boiling Point. Before he engaged in all the empire-building. When he had the one restaurant to focus on. Once you start franchising worldwide, well, just go eat at Wolfgang Puck's in Orlando, Florida...have been there twice, and I'd hope Wolfgang would have been disgusted if he had been served the food we were. Hopefully that same sort of thing isn't happening to Ramsay's restaurants.

His name is now just as much associated with tv "reality" show theatrics as it is with high-quality food. Perhaps even more so. I can't imagine that's how he wants to be thought of, because it's clear he put the time and hard work into his career and deserves to be called "chef". However, when you make the deal with the devil for fame and money, sometimes opening Pandora's Box can have unintended consequences.

Paladin you said it.  Too much too often seems to be Ramsays approach these days.  He is seeking publicity constantly, and does not seem to get the adage of leaving them wanting more.

The lure of big US tv money could be the end of him.

Between Kitchen Nightmares UK, Kitchen Nightmares USA and Hell's Kitchen (both of which, even as an American, I enjoy least of all his shows because they are too staged and "foxified") and the F Word, it's simply too much Ramsay...

Even the amount of emphasis on the actual instructional cooking from Ramsay on these shows suffers in the editing of the programs, and that's a real shame, because clearly the man is an excellent cook. The slant seems to lean on the confrontational encounters and contest aspects.

It would honestly serve him and those who like watching him better if he ditched most of his tv shows and went with one hour long program that featured a detailed session of him showing how to make a dish, and perhaps intercut that with non-staged footage of him working in his own restaurants. The Boiling Point initially was such a breath of fresh air because it gave a pretty unique glimpse of the pressures professional cooks face daily. The Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen programs are a bit too manufactured in terms of the scenarios they present.

I agree 100% that all of these shows have taken the anticipation of seeing him down several notches. The best of what he had to offer in television, to me, were the programs he made in the UK. It isn't particularly good news for me to hear he is considering uprooting from the UK and concentrating on US television, because the American shows seem all too willing to showcase the staged, theatrical side of him.

That article is hillarious! I just love it when hacks write their opinion and then try to decieve us into assuming it to be a fact. Patronizing, of course, but funny nonetheless :-)

While I think HK is the most realistic "chef show" in terms of what working in an actual restaurant is like, I also dislike it for that reason.  Kitchen Nightmares could really be a great show if they made the American version like the BBC version, which is one of my favorite shows and one of the few things I watch on BBC America.
