CELEBRITY chef Gordon Ramsay delighted the people of Inverclyde when he did a walkabout in Greenock yesterday.
Stunned shoppers stopped and stared as the controversial chef filmed scenes for his new show in the Oak Mall.
Ramsay, whose grandfather had a butcher's shop in Hamilton Way before the mall was built, was in town to film scenes for the new series of the F-Word.
He interviewed members of the public who were in the shopping centre about their food-buying habits.
The main part of the filming was outside Holland and Barratt, the health food store on the former site of the Alex Munro butcher shop.
Ramsay said: “We are filming here for Channel 4 so I can’t say too much about the details, but I am very glad to be back here and to have seen where my grandfather had his butchers.
`We are just beginning to film the series and where better to start than to come home and start here.”
Ramsay, known for his foul-mouthed outbursts and grumpy demeanour, happily signed autographs, shook hands and posed for photo- graphs.
