The fiery TV chef wants to spend more time in the States as his fame across the pond spirals.
A base there would also allow him to throw himself into new restaurant project LA London.
The US version of Gordon’s Kitchen Nightmares TV show is a big hit in America - and setting up a home there would boost his profile even further.
He could also drop in on LA-based pals David Beckham and Victoria Beckham for tea.
A source said: “Gordon will be spending a lot of time in America.
“He is looking for a home in LA to concentrate on restaurant and television projects there.”
Gordon’s scathing-Brit-abroad act is going from strength to strength, and he no doubt hopes to mirror the success of original Brit TV “baddie" Simon Cowell .
But judging by his performance on the Extras Christmas special, I don’t think Hollywood beckons just yet.
