GORDON Ramsay is to sell two of his London restaurants.

The Devonshire pub in Chiswick and his private dining rooms in Sloane Street are both on the market for undisclosed sums.

The Devonshire was the third pub added to Gordon Ramsay Holdings when it was taken over in 2007.

At the time the company said it planned to open 10 pubs. Its other two, The Warrington in Maida Vale and The Narrow in Limehouse, have both been praised by critics for their food.

The private dining rooms, called Sloane Street by Gordon Ramsay, are thought to have been particularly at risk from the contracting City economy. They are overseen by Mark Sargeant, Ramsay's "right hand man", and offer catering for groups of 30 or more.

Menus start at £80 a head and the venue can hold up to 200 for lunch, dinner, weddings and corporate events.

It had previously traded as La Noisette, earning a Michelin star under Bjorn van der Horst. Ramsay's move into gastropubs began two years ago in Limehouse, but critics gave The Devonshire a poor reception.
