GORDON Ramsay's secret sister is now desperate to meet the half-brother she never knew she had.

Sharon Donnachie, 43, was thrust into the spotlight after it emerged that her late mother Margaret had an affair with the celebrity chef's dad before he married.

The mum-of-two, from Port Glasgow, now lives in Linwood, Renfrewshire, after the family moved there when her mum wed Thomas Donnachie.

Her friend Andrea King told the Tele: `Sharon only found out last week they were related. It has come as a big shock to her.`

Sharon, who has a son, Christopher, 23, and daughter, Jenna, 18, was emotional when she heard the news.

Andrea, 24, said: `She has been very tearful, she can't get her head around it. She thought she might have brothers and sisters out there, but she never knew about Gordon Ramsay. Sharon was only saying the other day if she was to meet any family it wouldn't change her life. Then two days later, this happens. She told me she had a happy childhood with her grandparents in Port Glasgow.`

Andrea also revealed that both Sharon and her son are the spitting image of the top chef.

Sharon, a shop assistant at Glasgow Airport, has been besieged by the media since the story broke.

Her pal said: `Sharon feels her life has been turned upside down, but she can't wait to meet Gordon and she is thrilled that he's done so well.`
