I have news which may extract more than a few expletives from the F-Word star Gordon Ramsay.

His arch enemy and ex-boss Marco Pierre White is heading for America to front his own TV show and has also been asked to host the U.S. version of Hell's Kitchen, currently presented by Ramsay.

Marco, 45, who is famously the only man to have reduced Ramsay to tears, is on the verge of signing a lucrative six-figure deal with U.S. network NBC, I can reveal.

The contract for Marco's own TV series will be finalised within days and is set to turn the restaurateur into an overnight star across the Atlantic.
"Marco has had a number of talks with NBC and he's very excited about the project," says my TV source in LA.

"He has been over here for a number of chats and it's now at contract stage. Marco is just waiting for it to be agreed, signed and sealed. It's probably not going to come as welcome news to Ramsay, who is the No.1 British chef in America right now."

Marco, who took over the British version of Hell's Kitchen from Ramsay this year, was spotted leaving NBC's studios in LA during the summer.

Marco's close chum, filmmaker Matthew Vaughan, is best friends with Ben Silverman, president of NBC. Marco appeared in trailers for Vaughan's film Layer Cake.

A friend explained: "It was Matthew who introduced Ben to Marco and they hope that a very successful working partnership is about to be born.

"In America, they are convinced that there's a great opportunity for a new TV chef. Marco has masses of appeal, he is very charismatic and he's a genius in the kitchen."

Marco has a three-year contract with Granada TV, his agents in the U.S. American TV executives flew to Britain for further talks with the chef last week.

"Marco is hoping to secure the Hell's Kitchen deal before Christmas," adds my source.

"He plans to give Gordon a run for his money."

Marco could become Ramsay's nightmare!
