US broadcasters have been informed that the reality series starring the renowned chef will no longer air Wednesday nights, as of next week.

Chopping Block debuted with 'modest' ratings on channel USA network March 12, but ratings fell with each episode.

Craig Plestis, the network's alternative programming chief, previously declared that Pierre White would take US cooking television 'to a whole new level'.

The reality show followed 16 contestants made up of pairs - married couples, siblings, mothers and daughters - given the task of restoring an abandoned restaurant in New York.

Pierre White doesn't do any actual cooking in the show.

The news will certainly come as a blow for the Michelin starred chef who has had a long held rivalry with chef Ramsay.

Ramsay's US television career is going from strength to strength as programme Hell's Kitchen US has now entered its fifth season, with plans for a sixth and seventh season announced earlier this year.

And FOX television has also renewed his other series, Kitchen Nightmares, for a third season and is in the planning stages of a new Gordon Ramsay series.

Pierre White's show will be replaced with repeats of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

The episodes that aired only on USA Network will still make their broadcast debut on NBC starting April 29, as originally announced.

And NBC said it plans to air the remaining episodes at some point.

It really wasn't a good "cooking show"; way to much arm-chair finger-pointing my MPW and no where near enough cooking IMHO
