But for bride-to-be Leanne Williams, from Chorley, it couldn't have been more perfect.
The 29-year-old cookery dunce celebrated the big night by whipping up a 1970s-inspired three-course meal with 10 friends live on the hit television show 'Cookalong Live' with Ramsay and special guest DJ Chris Moyles.
The mother-of-one said: "When we were thinking of what to do for the hen party, my fiance Mark suggested we call the show and see if we could take part.
"I never thought we'd actually get on but we did and it was such a great experience.
"I'm the first person who will admit that I can't cook, so I thought who better to get some tips off than Gordon Ramsay himself?"
The show, which airs live every Friday on Channel 4, invites viewers to keep up with the crinkle-faced chef as he cooks three courses in under an hour.
Last month, the show sent film crews to follow Leanne and 10 friends, who were celebrating her hen weekend at a holiday cottage in Scarborough, as they tried to keep up.
Throughout the show, the girls were put through their paces as they attempted to cook a retro-feast of prawn cocktail, steak Diane, and mandarin cheesecake.
However, the biggest surprise of the night came when fiance Mark Hodgson, 38, surprised his bride by showing up in the studio in London.
Leanne, who lives in Wigan Road, Euxton, said: "It was so special. We were all so excited about getting ready to cook and when we looked up Mark and his friend, who is also called Mark, were in the studio.
"It was the best experience ever – something I will never ever forget."
The mum joked that she is now better prepared for married life because she will be able to take over some of the cooking chores from Mark.
The couple, who have a three-year-old daughter Minnie, are due to marry in Barbados in February, next year.
