http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/news-gossip/late-late-axes-ramsay-guest-over-legal-worries-1574449.htmlThe Late Late Show got a legal letter from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's solicitors before self-proclaimed 'professional mistress' Sarah Symonds was axed from the show last Friday.
Executive producer Larry Masterson took the ultimate decision.
"I made a decision to cancel it" confirmed Mr Masterson. "For legal reasons I wasn't one hundred per cent happy and -- as a responsible editorial decision -- I decided it was best to withdraw the item. It had to do with issues of breach of privacy," he continued.
"We certainly had contact with Gordon Ramsay about coming on the show and we got a standard solicitors letter from them but that is absolutely acceptable."
On Friday night, viewers expecting to tune in to Ms Symonds detail her alleged sexual exploits with foul- mouthed Michelin star chef Ramsay, but were instead treated to a performance by the Apres Match gang complete with comedian Barry Murphy dressed in a blonde wig portraying "a woman who says she slept with a famous person".
Mr Ramsay has refused to speak openly about the situation but continues to crack jokes about the intense media interest in his relationship with wife, Tana (33).
Ms Symonds was informed of the decision at around lunch time last Friday just before she was due to catch a flight to Ireland to appear on the show.
The controversial blonde, who has shot to fame in recent years for her various high profile affairs including one with British author Jeffery Archer.
She had previously appeared on the show last February to promote her book Having An Affair? A Handbook for the Other Woman and famously flirted with host Pat Kenny telling the happily married broadcaster that he was her type.
Earlier this week host Kenny said that he was "looking forward" to the interview because, he said: "when you're that close to someone, you can try and get a sense of how they really feel about things."
