Gordon Ramsay likes to rule the kitchen and apparently he considers himself a dab hand in the salon too.

The self-confessed control freak couldn't help but take over during an afternoon of pampering in Los Angeles last week.

He gave his hairdresser an unexpected masterclass in styling as he paid a visit to the exclusive Jessica Galván Hair Studio.

After his blond locks were washed and cut, he swiftly hijacked the hairdryer to put the finishing touches to his look while the professional coiffeuse watched.

And he looked rather impressed with his own handiwork, leaving the salon with a smile and bounce in his step.

The TV chef was joined by his wife Tana, who also had her tresses cut and styled during the visit.

She, however, decided to leave her makeover in the hands of the experts.

The couple are in LA while Ramsay films new series of Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

They have put on a united front since their marriage was rocked last November by claims that Ramsay had been cheating with professional mistress Sarah Symonds.

But it seems Tana, 34,  who has loyally stood by her husband, no longer wants to take any chances.

The mother-of-four left the couple’s brood at home in South London last month to join Ramsay, 42, in the US.
