Gordon Ramsay has a bit of a soft spot for Canada. The celebrity chef announced his hopes to expand his restaurant empire there last year, and this week he was back on the North American leg of his book tour.

It seems his Canadian fans are equally as enamoured of him. The British F Word star, famed for his fiery temperament and expletive-sprinkled language, was greeted by supporters in Toronto this week as he signed copies of his latest cookbook, Gordon Ramsay's Healthy Appetite.

At the sold-out event the 42-year-old answered questions from the assembled audience. The restaurateur revealed that his will to succeed has its roots in his years as a Glasgow Rangers soccer player.

The opportunity to see and hear from the foodie father-of-four had some keen fans queuing for two hours to guarantee front-row seats.
