A CLYDESDALE farmer Michael Shannon, of Damn Delicious, was in London last week after having been invited to exhibit at Gordon Ramsay’s Taste of Christmas food and drink exhibition.

One of only nine producers invited to take part in the exhibition, Michael was thrilled at the opportunity of introducing his business to the London market.

“I am very proud to have been able to present my company, who produce a quality Scottish product, to such a diverse crowd” said Mr Shannon.

He went on to say: “In the current economic conditions, people look for food that is not only good value for money, but also fresh and healthy, which is something Damn Delicious strives hard to achieve”.

Damn Delicious is an online butcher providing the freshest, cuts of beef and lamb across the United Kingdom and delivering them straight from their farm to the customer’s door.

Last week’s four-day event – supported by Channel 4 – celebrated the best in Christmas food, drink and entertaining, and was held at London’s ExCeL centre in East London.

Over 20,000 visitors attended the exhibition which included hands-on cookery demonstrations from Gordon Ramsay, interactive wine tastings and a line-up of top chefs and drinks experts.

Damn Delicious is based near Thankerton and have been producing beef and lamb from their farm since 1996.

Recently they started to sell directly to the public and deliver nationwide, and also took part in Lanark’s annual Christmas Market last month.

“We have developed a unique system of feeding our animals. They are free to roam outside all year round and graze only fresh natural foods, 365 days of the year,” explained Michael who has Aberdeen Angus Beef and Texel Lamb on his farm.
