Chefs from Rhodes Mezzanine and Verre by Gordon Ramsay to entertain visitors at Taste of Dubai
Executive chefs from the Rhodes Mezzanine restaurant, at Grosvenor House, and Verre by Gordon Ramsay, at the Hilton Dubai Creek, will go head to head against the clock in a 'Ready Steady Cook' style challenge at Taste of Dubai.

The Middle East's favourite outdoor fine food and beverage festival takes place from 11th -14th March in the stunning surroundings of the park and amphitheatre at the Dubai Media City.

Chef Paul Lupton, of Rhodes Mezzanine, and Chef Matthew Pickop, of Verre by Gordon Ramsay, will entertain visitors in the Chefs Theatre at two special sessions, on Friday and Saturday afternoons, when they meet to compete in the Chef's Challenge. A mystery bag of Spinneys' ingredients will be given to each of them to devise a recipe then cook a tasty and impressive dish within 20 minutes. The audience will be invited to vote for either Rhodes or Ramsay to decide the winner.

There will be a Chef's Challenge during every session of Taste of Dubai and the opening of the festival will be marked by Chef Colin Clague from Zuma, at DIFC, competing against Chef Axel Godefroid from Empire, at the Monarch Hotel. Gary Rhodes will be on hand to ensure fair play and encourage the audience to give their favourite chef plenty of support.

In addition to the Chef's Challenge sessions, the Mark Wilkinson Chefs Theatre is running a continuous programme of demonstrations from international celebrity chefs such as Gary Rhodes, James Martin, Giorgio Locatelli and Vineet Bhatia and Dubai's own crème de la crème of award winning chefs. Visitors can pick up lots of tips and techniques to impress their family and friends at the dinner table for months to come.

New to Taste of Dubai this year is the Spinney's Cookery School where enthusiastic foodies can learn a new dish straight from the professionals. Also new for children is the Kiddie's Kitchen where Taste's junior visitors can have a chance to decorate cookies and cupcakes, learn about food and role play in the special kitchen area.

Visitors can also taste their way around the world at the Marketplace, with chocolate and coffee to olive oils and dates on offer to try and then buy. Over 50 gourmet food producers and suppliers, plus a range of culinary equipment retailers, will be at the heart of this year's festival offering samples and demonstrations. For example, Weber BBQs will be showing how to impress your guests using a soft drinks can to create a superbly barbequed chicken!

The MMI beverage theatre provides visitor with the opportunity to take part in free tasting sessions, covering a wide range of beverages, to enhance their knowledge with leading connoisseurs.

Victoria Crick, Event Director, said: 'The Chef's Challenges will be great entertainment for the whole family and all our chefs really enjoy the chance to get together once a year at Taste of Dubai. They all share a passion for fine food and cooking which is what Taste of Dubai is all about - and they love the opportunity to meet Taste visitors who share their enthusiasm.'
