Following accusations reported in the Sun of philandering with Sarah Symonds, stories of his gastro-pubs serving up ready meals, not to mention reports in the Evening Standard of his failure to file accounts and dropping off the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list, Gordon Ramsay has had it tough of late.
The barrage of negative headlines has done little to maintain his top spot in the world of culinary engineering.
Some may say he has had his fair share of “media poisoning.” This might justify his recent decision to let go of his long-term PR trouble-shooter Gary Farrow, the media guru employed by Sir Elton John and the Osbournes, who was credited with steering Ramsay through a tsunami of tabloid denigration.
According to the Independent, the feisty celebrity-chef has enlisted the assistance of Phil Hall, the former News of the World editor. So far, Hall's biggest client was Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills, model, TV presenter, and activist known for her notorious accident with a police motorcycle that caused her to have her left leg amputated. That business relationship ended in 2007 with Hall and Mills citing their "business differences".
Phil Hall, is the founder and Chairman of "pha media," and according to their website is "an award winning journalist who edited the biggest selling English newspaper the News of the World for five years before taking up the reins of perhaps the highest profile magazine Hello!"
His current clients include the likes of Paul Gascoigne and Trisha Trisha Goddard.
With bigger "fish to fry," let’s hope that Hall keeps his cool and Ramsay resists using the “f” word.
