Anyone else notice that season 2 seems less over the top/edited?

Season 1 kind of made me cringe that the director/editor actually expected us to believe that these extraordinary things happened (ie. the guy calling the pizza store).

I think they want to make the formula more like the UK version, and less, shall we say, FOX reality TV.
