It is going to get hot in the kitchen again soon as Chef Gordon Ramsay is back for the fifth season of Hell’s Kitchen reality competition. The show premieres Thursday, January 29 at 9 PM ET on Fox. If you have never seen the show before, Hell’s Kitchen is all about the hot-tempered chef, Gordon Ramsay turning up the heat as he puts wannabe chefs through a culinary boot camp as they try to slice and dice their way to the top.

The premiere of the fifth season is airing nearly a full year after it was filmed back-to-back with the fourth edition, which Fox aired last spring.

Season four of Hell’s Kitchen finished as the highest-rated season in the show’s history, ranking No. 1 for Summer 2008 among Adults 18-49.

Mike Darnell, President, Alternative Entertainment had this to say about the Chef, “Gordon has done an amazing job of creating exciting franchises for FOX. From the first time I met him, it was clear that he would be a big star in America. He has become one of the faces of FOX,’ and we’re thrilled that he will be on our network for years to come.”

Chef Ramsay also had something to say about his relationship with Fox and told Daily Variety, “They let me be me — that’s the key to our success, and we properly understand each other: Fox wants to run a show, and I want to run a restaurant. I want to search for chefs. I try hard to keep it real, and I’m someone who takes all this very, very seriously.”
